Cheryl Cole has been battling the disease in intensive care for the past few days, but she was then moved to a private clinic on Friday to continue her recovery process.
Cheryl Cole unfortunately missed the X Factor public audition in Manchester due to her condition and producers of the show feared her participation in the boot camp stage could be limited, as it is not known when she will be able to return to work.
According to the Mirror newspaper, Simon Cowell has now ordered the talent show’s producers and ITV1 bosses to change the filming schedule.
He is concerned about Cheryl’s health after she contracted malaria during a holiday in Tanzania and worried that she may be tempted to return to work too early.
A show source said boot camp filming had been due to begin on July 22nd, but that Simon has delayed the start date in order to help Cheryl return after she has fully recovered.
“Cheryl was due to go abroad with her group but this may be changed now too, and the whole format tinkered with to fit in around her,” they added.
“There will be some big, exciting changes happening to this part of the new series anyway, so Cheryl’s role in proceedings will depend on how she is.”
X Factor has already had to film some of the new series without one of its stars, as Dannii Minogue stayed in Australia to have her baby while the public auditions took place.
