The has been great shock throughout the music industry as another legend passes away, Whitney Houston.
Whitney Houston passes away yesterday night Saturday February 11th at the exclusive Beverly Hilton Hotel say US police. The news comes hours before she was due to perform at the 2012 Grammy Awards party and showcase.
Police are yet to confirm how the star died. An array of stars have paid tribute to Whitney Houston, stars including including Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Simon Cowell and Katy Perry.
Mariah Carey tweeted, ‘Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston,’
‘My heartfelt condolences to Whitney’s family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world. She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth.’
From the rehearsal sessions for the Grammies, Rihanna tweeted, ‘I honestly can’t think of anything else!!! … Such an amazing talent.’
Simon Cowell tweeted, ‘I am so sad to hear about Whitney. We have lost one of the greatest singers of all time.’
Quincy Jones issued a public statement, saying he regretted never having the opportunity to work with Houston.
‘I am absolutely heartbroken at the news of Whitney’s passing,’ he said. ‘She was a true original and a talent beyond compare. I will miss her terribly.’
Katy Perry tweeted to her global fans, ‘So devastating. We will always love you Whitney, RIP’.
