The new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie has been put into production already and lead actor Johnny Depp was joined by his new leading lady Penelope Cruz.

Penelope Cruz, newly-married, looked like she was doing her best to blend in by wearing a pirate’s hat, knee length boots and long maroon coat.

Depp was dressed in Captain Jack Sparrow’s usual scruffy uniform of leathers, boots, bandanna and dreadlocks – not forgetting his sword of course.

Both Depp and Cruz were filming the fourth instalment of the swashbuckling franchise in Maui, Hawaii, with Depp seen being blindfolded for one scene.

Cruz plays Angelica, who is the daughter of villain Pirate Blackbeard (Lovejoy actor Ian McShane).

Sparrow embarks on an unexpected adventure to find the fabled Fountain of Youth after Angelica forces him on board Blackbeard’s ship the Queen Anne’s Revenge.

Depp’s character must decide whether it’s true love or if Angelica is just using him.

Geoffrey Rush, who reprises his role as Captain Barbossa in the upcoming movie, was also seen filming yesterday.

The film is being directed by Rob Marshall.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens on May 20, 2011.

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she was left scarred, after a stunt on the set of latest film Salt went wrong.

The actress, speaking at the Comic-Con festival in San Diego, California, revealed that she picked up the injury during a ‘ridiculously’ easy scene.

The 35-year-old reportedly sliced open her face just above her nose while rolling through a doorway with a gun, according to the Telegraph. Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy.

‘I was bleeding and I have a little scar now’ said the actress, addressing the crowd.

Jolie also revealed that she initially thought she had suffered a concussion because she was unable to hear anything, but then realised that she was wearing earplugs.

‘I couldn’t hear everybody well and I thought ‘oh god, I’ve done it. I have a concussion’. But it turns out, I just still had my earplugs in, so I was fine,’ she added.

Co-star Liev Schreiber told the conference ‘She wanted to do every stunt, and she did,’

‘No CGI in the movie, no stunt double, it’s all her.’

Jolie’s previous roles include Tomb Raider, Wanted, Interrupted and Mr and Mrs Smith – which she starred in alongside now-husband Brad Pitt.

Adrien Brody has revealed that he stopped having sex while training for his role in upcoming new sci fi movie Predators.

The actor told ShortList magazine that he went on a strict diet and exercise regime for six days a week to get in shape for the action role in the movie which requires intense physical activity.

Brody said: “Very heavy weights and high-rep circuit training was the key along with hundreds of push-ups a day. I was eating the right things obsessively, six-plus meals a day.

“Very lean protein-based foods, complex carbs, no sugar, no sex, no nothing.”

Asked why he gave up having sex, Brody explained: “If you look at fighters and people that are training for something that requires that level of intensity – I mean I was doing everything in my power to harness ferocity.

“I felt I needed to keep away from all distractions and all the things that erm… drain you, if you know what I mean.”

Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi film about mind-bending has won blessed reviews from many critics alike with many saying that it will be this summer’s biggest hit.

Inception shows, Leonardo DiCaprio as an “extractor” who spies on the upper class memebers in society by invading their dreams and taking out their most tightly guarded secrets from their dreamstate.

“A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules,” his character Dom Cobb says.

Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to The Dark Knight has got US reviewers gasping with excitement.

Film industry bible The Hollywood Reporter claims director Nolan has “outdone himself”.

“Inception puts him not only at the top of the heap of sci-fi all-stars, but it also should put this Warner Bros release near or at the top of the summer movies.”

“It’s very hard to see how a film that plays so winningly to so many demographics would not be a worldwide hit.”

Cinematical raved that “Inception is nothing short of a stunning, spectacular, visionary achievement”.

Critics have called the film an intelligent blockbuster.

Chud called it a “masterpiece” while Hitfix said: “Inception is an exhilarating cinematic experience that suggests there is still room, even in the blockbuster world, for big ideas and dangerous emotions, and that may be the single most thrilling thing about it.”

Reviewers are predicting that the film, which also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page, will become one of this year’s biggest hits.

Film School Rejects said: “I will say this now, without reservation and fully confident that many will agree; Inception is easily the best big budget film of the year thus far. I’ll go further and say that it’s one of the most beautiful, well written, and fully realized high dollar films of the last five years. Inception, is close to perfection.”

Inception is released in UK cinemas on July 16.

British actor Dominic Cooper has signed to appear in superhero flick Captain America: the First Avenger.

According to Movieweb, it’s official: After months of rumors, Marvel has officially announced that Cooper, who is best known for his work in ‘An Education’ and ‘Mamma Mia!,’ will be co-starring in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ in the role of patriotic industrialist and inventor par excellence Howard Stark.

Besides Jackson, Cooper joins a cast already teeming with stars, including Chris Evans, as Captain America, Hugo Weaving, as the Red Skull, and ingenue Hayley Atwell, as Peggy Carter. The whole gang will be on display in all their star-spangled glory starting on Jul. 22, 2011.

The makers of The Hurt Locker have been hit by a multi-million dollar lawsuit from an American soldier who claims he was the inspiration for the film.

Master Sgt Jeffrey Sarver filed papers in a US district court in New Jersey which allege that “The Hurt Locker motion picture and DVD are nothing more than an exploitation of a real life honorable, courageous and long-serving member of our armed forces, by greedy multi-billion dollar ‘entertainment’ corporations”.

Sgt Sarver says journalist Mark Boal, who wrote the screenplay for the film after being embedded with a US Army unit in Iraq, based the film’s main character on his life but lied by claiming the character was fictional.
The bomb disposal expert’s lawyer Geoffrey Fieger said: “They literally transposed his life in the film and then claimed it was a work of fiction.

“The only fiction was the claim it was a work of fiction.

“The screenplay says he is a blonde, blue-eyed trailer trash from Tennessee, but he’s blonde, blue-eyed and grew up in a trailer in West Virginia.

“Nobody can claim with a straight face that it’s not Jeff Sarver.”

Sgt Sarver, who wants the opening credits to list him as the basis for the character Will James, says that Boal was with his bomb disposal unit when he was commissioned to write an article for Playboy magazine in 2005 that led to the Hurt Locker screenplay.

He claims that he spoke at length with Boal and that he coined the phrase “the hurt locker”.

Among those named in the suit are Boal, director Kathryn Bigelow and distributor Summit Entertainment.

The case comes as a second blow in consecutive days to the film, which is nominated for nine Oscars this weekend, after an email from producer Nicholas Chartier to Academy voters urging them not to vote for Avatar was leaked to the press.

Attempting to sway voters by disparaging a rival film is strictly against Academy rules and he has been banned from attending the ceremony as a sanction.

Summit Entertainment did not comment directly on Mr Sarver’s allegations but issued a statement saying that they hoped for “a quick resolution” to his claims.

“We have no doubt that Master Sgt Sarver served his country with honour and commitment risking his life for a greater good, but we distributed the film based on a fictional screenplay written by Mark Boal,” the statement read.

“We hope for a quick resolution to the claims made by Master Sgt Sarver.”

At a news conference Sgt Sarver’s legal team said that they had deliberately not spoken out until after this year’s Oscar ballot had closed on Tuesday as they did not want to prejudice Academy voters.

“We want the movie to be successful, because that is in my client’s benefit,” said Mr Fieger, adding that if the suit is successful the producers will “have to share the financial benefit that apparently they are going to reap from this movie”.

He added: “I would hope they do the right thing, but my experience tells me when people have money they rarely do the right thing.”

The 60-year-old also claims he knows a former Michael Jackson musician who quit from touring with the King of Pop because “of seeing boys coming out of the hotel rooms.”

The Demon – real name Chaim Witz – made the allegations in the new edition of Classic Rock Magazine where he said he had pleasant memories of Jackson in his younger years, but this soon changed when the child abuse allegations arose.

“As time moved on, and no matter what my fond memories and fond images of Michael were, with one allegation of paedophilia after another and another and another… Oh dear,” he explained.

“I knew some of the musicians he toured with, and specifically one who quit because of seeing boys coming out of the hotel rooms. And then you factor in that his travel agent was put on the stand and in court said that she was authorised to fly to Brazil and bring boys back to America for him…
“Well, you know, where there’s smoke there’s fire. There’s no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt.

“Michael’s on tape going, ‘Give the kids Jesus juice.’ Which is wine. I mean, it’s just endless.
“There’s never been a single female of any age that I’ve ever known about who has ever made a claim that she has had a physical relationship with Michael, ever.

“In fact, while he was alive, I never heard about mature men ever making that claim either – and believe me, you can’t keep it a secret. If you’re a celebrity, somebody somewhere will say, ‘Oh yeah, I shagged him.’

“The only sexual references ever made about Michael Jackson that were made by anyone, anywhere around the world, have always been made by kids, and specifically males usually 10 to 14 years of age; never females, that age or older, and never grown men.

“Oh, I don’t think this is going away any time soon.”

Harrison Ford would be “happy as pie” to make another Indiana Jones movie.

The 67-year-old has played the adventurous archaeologist four times and would love to reprise the role for a fifth big screen outing.

“If we find another story to do and we develop the character a little further and I get a chance to do another one, I’d be happy as pie to do it,” he told Cinematical.

Ford, who last picked up the character’s whip in 2008′s Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, said of starring in the blockbuster franchise: “I’ve always been interested in developing the character, and bringing more information about the character each time we’ve gone out.

“We’ve found ways of doing that by introducing Sean (Connery) as my father, Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) as my son, bringing back Karen (Allen) – all of those things that work for me.”

Ford first played the character in 1981′s Raiders Of The Lost Ark and reprised the role in 1984′s Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom and 1989′s Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. He returned to the part almost 20 years later in Crystal Skull.

Columbia Pictures has scrapped current plans for Spider-Man 4 and will start over with a new cast and director. In fact, the story starts over, too. The press release states that Spidey’s alter ego, Peter Parker will go back to high school when the next Spider-Man film hits theaters in the summer of 2012.

Though Sam Raimi directed the three previous installments of the film franchise with actor Toby Maguire in the starring role, Sony’s Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced that the action-hero series will reboot.

Originally due to hit screens in May 2011, delays occurred in production related to disputes between Raimi and the studios over villain choices, casting and the script, which was rewritten three times, going on four.

After a decade with Raimi and Maguire, this new chapter for Spider-Man includes a different script and focuses on Spider-Man as “a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.”

The expectation is that the new Spider-Man film will be in 3D.

Meanwhile, the Broadway musical version of the action hero tale is also up in the air. Directed by Julie Taymor (Across the Universe) and with music by U2′s Bono and The Edge, the $50 million production was delayed when it hit a financial crisis last year as funds dried up.

Previews, scheduled for February 25, won’t happen, contrary to the website and posters. Producer Michael Cohl insists the musical will go on in 2010.
