Pictures from the Dark Knight rises set have hit the internet. The new pictures show filming of the Batman sequel The Dark Knight Rises at ‘Wayne Enterprises’ in New York City on Friday, where stars Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were seen shooting scenes

Christian Bale takes up his role once again to play Batman in the third film in the trilogy of Nolan’s films. Hundreds of fans lined the streets hoping to catch a glimpse of Bale, 37, as the movie’s leading man, Bruce Wayne, and Gordon-Levitt, 30, donning a Gotham police officer’s uniform as John Blake.

The eagerly anticipated movie has already been shot all over the world in locations such as London, Glasgow and Los Angeles.

The Dark Knight Rises, which also stars Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy and Morgan Freeman, is set to be released on July 20 next year and is already tipped to become one of the biggest movies of 2012.

The final installment is the third of Nolan’s Batman series, which started off in 2005 with Batman Begins.

The next film in the Die Hard franchise has been given the official title of A Good Day to Die Hard along with a release date on Valentine’s Day 2013.

Bruce Willis is set to reprise his classic role as John McClane in the action film, which is due out in cinemas on February 14, 2013.

The film has not started filming until next year. A Good Day to Die Hard will follow McClane as he heads to Moscow to look for his son Jack who has landed himself in prison.

The plot of the film is set around John McClane attempting to find out the truth about his son’s arrest. And as you would expect he is trust into action scenes involving various locations around the world.

Die Hard 5′s synopsis says: ‘Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over.

‘Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.’

There’s no word yet on who will play McClane’s son but on Twitter blackwood wondered: ‘Does this mean Shia LaBeouf will be in it?’

Film fans also gave the name of the movie a mixed reception with ComicBookGrrl saying: ‘A Good Day to Die Hard is the *real* name for the sequel? Never thought they could do worse than Die Hard 2: Die Harder. I was mistaken.’

While AdamCatterall said: ‘A good day to Die Hard’ is out Valentines day. Is the story that John McClane goes on a date and pops it before he ‘pops it’? #playonwords.’

The new Avengers trailer has just been uploaded onto YouTube for all to see. The film is expected to be released May next year in the US, and following that will be the UK.

The new Avengers film sees Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America coming together with a host of other characters that have appeared in some of the previous films. Such as Black Widow who first was seen in Iron Man 2 and Hawkeye in Thor.

The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.

The Avengers tells the story of Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., who recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, in August and New York City in September.

The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012 in the United States.

Cornwall will be getting a top A-list visitor this summer, Brad Pitt is said to be heading there shoot scenes for his new film World War Z. Ads have already gone out locally find zombies to star alongside him.

Pitt is working in Malta at the moment on the post-apocalyptic zombie film where he was paid an unexpected visit by his partner Angelina Jolie and their six children.

Filming in Cornwall is due to take place off the coast of Falmouth in August. There is already discussions between the local council and Paramount Pictures to secure the right documents for filming.

The historic 400-year-old town is home to a famous harbour and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. The sites could attract a lot more visitors if used as the setting for one of next year’s big Hollywood blockbusters – especially if Angelina and the couple’s brood are also in town.

Speaking to the Western Morning News, Falmouth’s Town Manager Richard Gates said he has been helping to work out logistics with the film studio.

‘This is a major coup for Falmouth and we’re pulling out all the stops to prepare for the influx of crew and cast,’ he said.

‘We’ve been working closely behind the scenes with Paramount Pictures and are working hard with regards to the necessary planning and permissions.’

Local councillors are hoping the filming will help to boost the town’s profile and economy.

There is already said to be an ‘almighty buzz’ in the town as cameras are set to begin rolling during the annual sailing event held in the town at the beginning of August.

To add to the excitement in the town, Paramount is to hold open casting sessions this weekend at a local school for extras in the film.
Pitt will also be shooting scenes for the zombie film in Glasgow later this year.

In the film, based Max Brooks’ 2006 novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, Pitt plays a worker at the United Nations Post-war Commission, collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived a zombie attack.

Johnny Depp, working with Penelope Cruz, kept him on his toes as he filmed the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean film, he said at its UK premiere.

Johnny Depp takes up him usual role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, was greeted by screams from hundreds of hysterical fans who had packed into London’s Westfield shopping centre to grab a glimpse of the Pirates star.

Wearing a charcoal suit and teal shirt, Depp signed autographs on the blue carpet, lit to resemble the sea.

Cruz, who was pregnant during the shoot, stars as Captain Jack’s old flame Angelica, a female pirate, in the 3D film, released on May 18.

Depp said: “I’ve worked with her twice now, and it’s always been a real pleasure.

“She’s very special, very talented, and also at the same time as an actress she gives you so much that you weren’t necessarily expecting, so you’re up on your toes.”

Johnny Depp hopes to continue with the hugely-successful franchise, saying: “There’s a lot more I feel I can do with these films. There are a lot more possibilities to be mined.”

On the possibility of a fifth film, he added: “I don’t know what the situation with five will be, but I do know that we’re talking about it.”

Part of the film was shot in Greenwich, south-east London, which Depp particularly enjoyed.

“It’s like my second home now,” he said.

Cruz, who recently gave birth to a son, wore a long white Givenchy dress with lace sleeves and a train for the premiere. She revealed she was so keen to work on the film that she accepted the role without having read the script.

“It was a big honour to feel invited,” she said. “I loved the other three (films) and I love what Johnny has created.”

She said the experience of filming an action film while pregnant was made “very easy” for her, adding: “Rob (Marshall), our director who we love, is an angel, and Johnny and every single person in the crew was so protective of me, and I will never forget that.”

Dame Elizabeth Taylor, one of the 20th Century’s biggest movie stars, died on Wednesday in Los Angeles at the age of 79.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor won two Oscars in her lifetime and has had a long history of ill health and was being treated for symptoms of congestive heart failure.

Her publicist announced that her four children were with her when she died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Her son Michael Wilding called her “an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest” in an official statement.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor was equally well-known for her glamour and film partnership with Richard Burton, one of seven husbands.

In her prime, she was arguably one of the world’s greatest actresses and most beautiful women.

Her colourful private life, screen success and Aids charity work ensured she was never far from the spotlight since finding fame at the age of 12.

The peak of her film career came in the 1950s and 1960s, with four Oscar nominations in a row from 1958 to 1961.

She lost out in her first three attempts – for Raintree County, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Suddenly, Last Summer – but triumphed at her fourth attempt with Butterfield 8.

Her second Oscar came in 1967 for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, one of 12 films with Burton.

She met the actor while filming 1963′s Cleopatra – which became notorious as one of the most expensive films of all time, but which also sparked one of Hollywood’s greatest romances.

Taylor had already been married four times – to Conrad Hilton Jr, Michael Wilding, Michael Todd and Eddie Fisher – before she wed Burton in 1964.

Their tempestuous relationship saw them divorce and remarry in 1975 before she moved on to further marriages with John W Warner and Larry Fortensky.

Her health problems began with a fall while filming her first hit film, National Velvet, which led to a lifetime of back problems.

A rare strain of pneumonia almost killed her in 1961 and she also battled addictions to alcohol and painkillers.

In the 1990s, she endured two hip replacement operations and another near-fatal bout of pneumonia and survived surgery for a benign brain tumour in 1997.

In 2004, it was revealed that she was suffering from congestive heart failure, with symptoms including fatigue and shortness of breath, and scoliosis, which twisted her spine.

But she continued to campaign for her Aids charity, which she set up in 1991 after the death of her friend and co-star Rock Hudson.

In addition to her four children – Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Maria Burton-Carson and Liza Todd-Tivey – Dame Elizabeth is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A private family funeral will be held later this week. Instead of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation.

British actress Joan Collins, who starred alongside Dame Elizabeth in the 2001 TV film These Old Broads, called her “the last of the True Hollywood Icons”.

“A great beauty, a great actress and continually fascinating to the World throughout her tumultuous life and career. She will be missed,” she added.

Singer George Michael said: “She also did a great deal in the last 25 yrs [sic] to help the world deal with the HIV epidemic. I am proud to have known her if only a little.”

One-time co-star Sir Michael Caine also paid tribute, remembering her as “a beautiful woman, a wonderful actress, and a great human being.”

Transformers star Megan Fox looks amazing hot in the new scenes from her new film Passion Play, however critics have put the film down before hitting the cinema going straight to DVD.

A recently released still shows the Transformaers star looking absolutely gorgeous in a low cut golden dress being chased by jazz musician. A second shot shows Megan Fox in a skimpy nightdress, stunningly oozing sex appeal.

In this new Hollywood flop Fox stars as Lily, an angel under the thumb of evil gangster and saved by a down-and-out jazz musician.

Former Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke plays musician Nate Pool, while Bill Murray plays gangster Happy Shannon.

British actor Rhys Ifans, currently dating Anna Friel, also stars in the film.

But the combination of Fox’s good looks and a stellar cast hasn’t been enough to impress critics, who branded the film ‘awful’ after its debut at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

Another described the film as ‘epically bad’, while elsewhere Passion Play was described as ‘a mess.’

Unfortunately the film did not withstand the critical onslaught, the film will now go straight to DVD.

The news is yet another blow to Fox, who recently came under fire for her appearance in an advert for Emporio Armani.

The actress was criticised for looking gaunt in the ad, forcing her personal trainer to deny Fox is suffering from an eating disorder.

Harley Pasternak yesterday insisted that a fast metabolism was behind her delicate frame, and said: ‘People thought, “Oh she must be anorexic,” but she’s far from that!’

With director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass director) at the helm, X-Men First Class goes back in time to when Professor X and Magneto worked side by side to fight evil and coming to terms with their powers.

Professor X has been taken up by James McAvoy, with 300’s Michael Fassbender taking on the role of the metal-mangling evil one.

The pace of the trailer is initially slow as it sets up the memory-lane premise, but it’s not long before it reveals that First Class is certainly not going to have second-class effects and action sequences.

We see Magneto and Professor X – or merely Eric and Charles in this film – working with other mutants to help the American government prevent a nuclear war.

This gives Eric a chance to levitate a submarine, a young Beast to dodge some missiles in an SR-71 spy plane and Charles to wear an an illuminated brain helmet device and yell a lot.

The trailer ends with Charles warning Eric about the personal price to pay for killing lots of people.

‘It’ll never bring you peace,’ he says. But Eric is having none of it. ‘Peace was never an option,’ he replies. Friendship rift alert.

Lord of the Ring’s Orlando Bloom is in final negotiations to return as Legolas in Peter Jackson’s two films based on ‘The Hobbit.’

Peter Jackson’s two-part adaptation of The Hobbit is finally on the right track, having received the long-awaited official greenlight back in October and two weeks later being confirmed to have its production remain where it belongs in New Zealand.

Since then, the news reports having been rolling in with The Hobbit updates and a plethora of casting announcements, including Cate Blanchett returning to the franchise as Galadriel. Now, believe it or not, we can also add Legolas to the list of characters not a part of The Hobbit novel who will play important roles in The Hobbit films.

Deadline has the exclusive which details that Orlando Bloom, who kick-started his career as the fan-favorite Orc-killing archer in Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, is close to signing a deal with New Line to play Legolas yet again. Not only will he be making an appearance, but his role is described as being “more than a cameo” as Deadline explains.

Back in the day, the plan for The Hobbit was to make it a standalone movie with a follow-up film acting as a “bridge” between it and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This would’ve allowed for many of the characters we all know and love from the series to return. We even heard from actors including Viggo Mortensen and Dominic Monaghan that they’d love to come back and that they had heard rumblings about the possibility. Keep in mind, this was back when the plan was to have The Hobbit come out next month with the bridge film out in 2011. Things have changed a lot since then.

With Galadriel and Legolas returning to play alongside Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins, this indicates that the screenplays are deviating from the novel in significant ways to help it connect with the Lord of the Rings films, still essentially acting as that ”bridge,” we had heard about long ago. If it works for the story, I’m all for it and it should generate a lot of excitement and familiarity for casual moviegoers.

This does make me wonder though if the script had always been written for these two elves to return. What if Bloom didn’t choose to come back? Would they recast? Are other characters like Aragorn in the running to return as well?

While Legolas would mark another returnee, key character actors Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving and Andy Serkis have yet to sign to reprise their roles of Gandalf, Lord Elrond and Gollum respectively.
