The star fell out of a harness which was supposed to carry her across the crowd, instead being dragged into a barricade. Her crew rushed to check she was alright straight after the incident and the show, which was part of her Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, ended immediately.

The concert in Nuremberg was halted as the 30-year-old was taken to hospital to be checked over.

She even tweeted from the ambulance on the way to the hospital in a bid to reassure worried fans. She wrote on Twitter: “Nothing’s broken, no fluid in the lungs, just seriously sore.”

She also apologised to fans for having to cut short her concert.

“To all my nurnberg fans – I am so so so sorry to end the show that way. I am embarrassed and very sorry. I’m in ambulance now but I will b fine,” she wrote.

“Didn’t get clipped in2 harness correctly, drug me off stage, fell in2 barricade. Getting xrays. I hope it at least looked cool!!!”

Video footage, shot by a member of the crowd, shows the accident and Pink can be heard saying that it “really hurt”.

It also shows her getting back on stage so fans could see she was not seriously injured, but was then taken by ambulance to hospital.

The Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, which is travelling across Europe, is due to end later this month.

Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie looked ready for battle as she rocked last night’s World Cup kick-off concert in a gladiator-style outfit.

The singer showed off her legs in a short black, gold and silver costume, which had bejewelled breast plates, large shoulder pads and glitzy hip panels.

She teamed this up with glimmering Edward Scissorhands-inspired nails stuck to one hand as the band played at the Orlando Stadium in South Africa.

Her bandmate Will.I.Am, wore a silver mask over his face.

Fans braved the cold to watch the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Shakira and Alicia Keys perform at the lavish event, which was broadcast around the world.

Black Eyed Peas opened their set with the hit Where is the Love.

Amadou and Mariam, John Legend, Angelique Kidjo and Vusi Mahlasela also performed at the bash at the 30,000-strong capacity.

Shakira performed the closing set, dressed in a skin-tight body and grass skirt.

She sang a few of her hits like The Hips Don’t Lie, before launching into Waka Waka (This Time For Africa), the official World Cup anthem.

This is the first time such a music concert has been held as part of the World Cup opening events.

Bank worker Vanitha Govender told The Daily Mail: “This is history in the making. Only 15 years ago we were unsure of our identity, but here we stand as one nation. I’m very excited, I’m very happy to be here, I love the vibe.”

The World Cup starts today with an opening match between hosts South Africa and Mexico.

Florence And The Machine, The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Paul Weller, La Roux and Faithless are also on the bill for the two-site event, it was revealed today (March 1).

V Festival takes place on two sites – one in Chelmsford and one in Staffordshire – on August 21-22.

The 23-year-old pop phenomenon played the first night of her self-styled “electro opera” in Manchester on Thursday.

The tour, which travels around the UK and Ireland for the next couple of weeks, is dubbed The Monster Ball. But there’s nothing to be frightened of – except tinnitus.

It was a hugely ambitious, terrifyingly loud show, spread over four acts and held together by a flimsy “narrative” about Gaga and her dancer friends trying to get to a party.

Impressively, the entire spectacle was put together in just four weeks. The singer told fans at the MEN arena: “We were doing another show in the United States… but I got very bored, so I threw it away.”

In fact, the production was so last-minute that the star was still on stage adding the finishing touches just half an hour before the doors opened.

Inevitably, then, the first night didn’t run entirely smoothly.

Lighting cues were missed, the sound mix wasn’t properly balanced and the show over-ran by 30 minutes, leaving some of the audience stranded in a cold and snowy Manchester.

But nearly all 23,000 of them stayed on to the bitter end – because, make no mistake, this was a sight to behold.

Prince Harry is to become the first member of the British Royal Family to appear at the BRIT Awards.

Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s youngest son is set to deliver a video message at the 2010 ceremony on February 16.

In the clip, which will be aired at the Earls Court venue in London and on television broadcasts of the event, the Prince is set to praise the awards and the BRIT Trust, which helps fund the BRIT School in Croydon.

“The BRITs is a celebration of all that is totally outstanding and unique about British music,” he says in the message. “And what’s less well known about the BRIT Awards is the fantastic work it does raising millions of pounds for the BRIT Trust, which has benefited thousands of young people to develop their talents and generally enrich our society.”

Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Robbie Williams, Florence And The Machine and La Roux are among the acts nominated for BRITs this year.

Kasabian, La Roux and Calvin Harris are set to play a gig in aid of War Child next month in London.

That acts will all appear at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on February 16 – with the gig starting directly after the BRIT Awards, which take place in the UK capital on the same night.

All profits from the gig will go to aid War Child’s work, helping children in war zones across the world.

Kasabian praised the charity, saying, “War Child’s work is absolutely vital. Simple! They have done so many beautiful things and to help raise money for them to extend the reach of their amazing work is a huge honour. It will be an inspirational night all round!”

War Child now hold an annual BRITs after-party, with last year’s event featuring performances from The Killers and Coldplay, along with special guest appearances from Gary Barlow and Bono.
